Any must-sees or secret cafes are always welcome.
Don’t miss the brilliant sunsets over Lake Superior near Munising. Tahquamenon Falls State Park (lower Falls CG) is also a must see

I had never heard of pasties before our trip to the upper peninsula to pick up our new Akita pup in Newberry in September of this year.
Bought a couple at the grocery store and I thought those things were great, unfortunately they don't sell them here out west.

If I am ever in Michigan again, I will take full advantage of eating those tasty treats.

I have to laugh at myself because when I started to see signs selling pasties I incorrectly thought they meant pastries.

Take the tour that goes down into Iron Mountain. Great to see how iron ore was mined in the past. Also, eat a pastie - what the miners carried down into the mine to eat.

You need Pasty.com! 1.1 million pasties shipped (frozen). Shipments only available in the cooler months.

Black River Harbor CG was one of my favorite stops in the Western side of U.P. Rustic and remote, with views of Lake Superior that are amazing. There are 7 waterfalls nearby that don't disappoint!

Police car and fire trucks are the only motorized vehicles I have ever seen on the island. Even the hearse is horse drawn.

Bay View NF directly on Lake Superior. (Dry camping) The lake is steps from the sites on the lake side. Pendill Creek Natl Fish hatchery. Very fascinating and very friendly.
