Mesquite - Palo Duro Canyon State Park Campground, Canyon, Texa

If you like to bike and hike put it on your bucket list. Here are pics of Mesquite but all other sites look great.

Thanks for posting these pics and comments. Palo Duro is on our list to hit later when we make a trip back to OK to see family.

Pala Dura

We stayed there last week....great hiking trails and great campground. Temp varied from 91 degrees on Monday to a low of 16 on Tues morning
. Be aware of dropping temps in the canyon. There is no cell service, so we were taken by surprise by the dip in temp. Lucky though - we were up early enough - that we were able to get the water running after it started to freeze - close call.

Palo Duro

What a beautiful place to visit. But extremely hot to camp in the summer months.

Don’t forget Cap Rock Canyon in Quitaque. About 50 miles from Palo , all hooks ups and very well maintained. You can reserve on line.

Palo Duro Canyon/TEXAS Play.

I was there with family June 1996 and got to see the play "TEXAS" a Musical Romance of Panhandle History and it was great. The most successful outdoor musical drama production in the nation and seats 1,742. It runs from mid Jun to late Aug nightly except Sunday. You will not want to miss this. Beside that there's lot to see in the local area. For reservations to the play call (806) 655-2181

There is a newly opened loop, Juniper. We haven't stayed there yet but friends say it's the place to go.
