Mardi Gras camping

Ok, it's Lundi Gras (Fat Moday) and we're getting the camper ready for our trip to Metairie, LA. We have a spot just yards from one of the parade routes. This is not downtown New Orleans, this is the Metairie parades and is very much a familly oreinted Mardi Gras. Many of our exdended familly will be there with our little camper serving as base camp.
I'll post some picture latter. It looks like it will be a cool and rainy day so this might not be the best Mardi Gras. Still, the kids alway seem to like it.
We will be in a parking lot (very resonable terms for the spot) and will have no hook-ups at all. We will be on our own water, batteries and gas for the day. We got out the stove top espreso maker and are ready for the morning in the wilds of the parking lot.
Sorry, "roughing it" does not include no coffee in the morning.

We're back home now. Everyone had a graet time even if it was a little damp. The camper worked great and we never ran out of water or battery supply. This is the first time we've been out with no hook-ups. Everything worked better than expected!
We had about 25 people show up at our site. (Arbey's parking lot on Veterans Hwy) I should have posted pictures of how to opperate the toilet. I must have explained that ten times or more.

Here we are set up ready for the parades

Some of the kids thought the construction work near by was worth watching.

Some of our group stayed on track and brought home the swag.

A good day, wish you all had been here.
