Maine beaches - any recommendations ?

We have decided to head to Maine this year having never been there. Our final destination being a beach area. The canoe, kayak, and Chesapeake Bay retriever will also be going so we would like to be somewhere with a dog friendly beach or even a dog park. I hope to get in some salt water fishing also. Looking for campground recommendations ,don't need to be by the water but within reasonable driving distance.

Try Bar Harbor. It has both fresh and salt water acccess. The Carriage trails area GREAT to hike or ride bikes. Acida Nation Park has two camp grounds. There are many privite ones along the way.

Best of luck
I know that you will Love this area

Thanks for the advice from the look
of things I think we will give Gray Homestead a try. Seems like a very nice area with just what we are looking for.
