How do you like cooking inside Lucy? Is it nice and cozy for dinners? Do you eat in much? Just curious what the overall experience is like.

mwinter, We just got our Airstream Life Magazine. You should get this issue if you don't have one. If you have read the issue you noticed the stories and e mail addresses of people that are living in their Airstreams.
I am sure the stories would be of interest to you and you could get additional info from the people who are "living" and working in their Airstreams. NEAT.

We eat meals inside Lucy almost all the time while traveling. We find it very comfortable and much more relaxing than going out to eat. We do cook some in Lucy, but we more often either nuke a Stouffer's dinner or bring in some take-out.

Day 15 - May 28, 2007
We toured the Tower-Roosevelt Section of Yellowstone today. We had a pleasant suprise on the wat. We were passing through Norris Junction when SuEllyn spotted a Cow Moose and her Yearling! We were able to get a few Photos before they diappeared back into the woods. We went on to Tower-Roosevelt and toured that area, and took a few pictures of the points of interest. Of particular interest was the petrified redwood tree from Subtropical Yellowstone. This tree is 50 million years old and dates to Eocine Times when a massive volcanic eruption burried this tree in ash preserving it for all time. We returned to Norris Junction on our way back the the campground and, sure enough, we saw what we think were the same two Moose that we had seen earlier in the day. We were able to get a few decent pictures before darkness fell. All of a sudden, it started snowing quite hard. As we pulled back on the roadway, the two Moose crossed the road directly in front of Olivia.

Great snaps Brian!
Moose facts-
Moose are not normally aggressive, however, they can be very aggressive when hungry, tired or harassed by people, dogs, and traffic (sounds familiar!). During the mating season bull moose are often more aggressive toward people. Mothers with young calves are very protective and will attack humans who come too close.
You can identify when a moose might attack if the long hairs on its hump are raised and it's ears laid back. A moose may also lick its lips.
Charges may only be "bluffs", warning you to get back, however take this seriously, even a young calf could cause significant injuries from it's size alone. When a moose does charge, it often kicks forward with its front hooves. Unlike other animals, such as dogs and bears, it's usually a good idea to run from a moose because they won't chase you very far.

I am loving the trip reports, first thing I look at in the mornings over coffee. Make sure and take espically good notes on your way north to Glacier. That is all new ground for me and I will be counting on you to get the skinny. Hope the trip continues to be fun.

I assume that you are talking about our internet service. We use a service provided by Alltel, our cell phone provider. It is called Axcess Mobilelink and uses one our cell phones connected to our laptop to access the internet. This service costs us $25/mo for unlimited use anywhere in the country. This system works anywhere that you can get a cell signal, even while moving in the car. It has worked out great for us in our Airstream travels. We are very satisfied with this service. I'm sure that a similar plan is offered by other national cell providers.

Day 16 - May 29, 2007
This is our last day in Yellowstone. We spent most of the morning getting Lucy ready to go.
We hit the park for one last time. We decided to go by Old Faithful again and see the big show. As we were leaving the parking lot, we witnessed a big black crow committing a B&E, Auto on a motorcycle tank bag. As we watched, the crow actually opened the zipper on the tank bag and searched for food. We went by the rest of the geyser and pools that we ahd not seen. We also went by Firehole Falls.
Before we went back to Lucy, we went by the location where we had seen the Moose last night. We caught a glimpse of another Moose cow before she disappeared into the woods.
Tomorrow morning we are on our way to Glacier National Park.

Took me a minute to figure out the "B&E" from your post. Had to read the hole thing first. But then I haven't had any run-ins with the law. Least nothing more than a speeding ticket or two.
Great shots. I am enjoying reading your travelogue so much. I can't wait to take my two boys to Yellowstone in a couple of years. Hopefully a trip to the Grand Canyon will be the year following.
Thanks for letting us come along vicariously. Looking forward to the rest of the trip.

I'm sorry about that. B&E, Auto is breaking and entering of an automobile for the purpose of theft of contents. Here are a couple more photos better depivting the crime.

Well, I should have known that one. My truck was a B&E victim last summer and last week someone tried again in the same parking deck. When I reported it to the parking deck security, the lame @$$ security manager blamed it on my truck...the door handle design on the F-250's and several others Ford, GM, and Dodge products are easy to pop off and the perp can reach up into the door and trip the door lock making the anti-theft system "think" that the door was unlocked with the key and thus disarm the system and unlock the door at the same time. Fortunately this time, they weren't successful in getting in; unfortunately, last time I wasn't so lucky.

The bike in the picture of your B&E is way cool! A BMW R1200GS Adventure with the rider a member of the "Iron Butt Association". They're high mileage riders who do things meet in Alaska to have lunch, or spend their summer on a four corners ride...the four corners of the continental USA +/-Alaska.
When we went snowmobiling out there, those same birds would open the velcro flap underseat storage area and crawl in to look for food! I kept finding my seat storage open when we'd get off the machine and wondered what was up...until I caught one of them in the act.
BTW, I've really enjoyed your travelogue. Thanks!

Day 17 - May 30, 2007
We broke camp at the West Yellowstone KOA, and started making our way toward Glacier National Park. On our way out of town we spied a really cool Airstream tow vehicle. This thing ought to handle a 34 footer easily.
We drove north on US 191, and stopped to look at Big Sky, a ski rsort community about 50 miles north of West Yellowstone. It was OK, but not our style.
We continued north on US 191 to I-90 near Bozeman. We continued west on I-90 to Butte, where we made camp at the KOA, Butte. It's pretty nice, and resonable at about $25.00 for full hook-ups. We went by the visitor Information center and got some Butte information. It looked so neat, we decided to spend two nights here.
We had dinner a local restuarant called Lydia's; it was great. After dinner, we went to Wal-Mart for supplies. We took a dusk ride around uptown Butte, and looked around.
The photo with the full moon in it was taken from our campsite. The tower at sunset is one of the old mine towers above uptown Butte.

Now you can say you haven't visited Yellowstone "in a blue moon"! Or that you visited Big Sky "once in a blue moon". You get the cliché. Tonight's full moon is the second one in May making it the first blue moon since 2003.
