Lost winter site in Punta Gorda, FL

I appears we are losing our seasonal Snow Bird site in Punta Gorda, Fl due to the hurricane and need to come up with plan B.
Reliable information needed for seasonal camping in Florida, Texas or New Mexico
our timeline is November to April of 2023.
Thanks All and have a great day!

We just stayed at Viewpoint RV and Golf resort in Mesa, AZ. I was chatting with the RV reservation gal and she indicated that they had a few sites left. Might be worth a try if you can't find anything closer but I bet they go quick if not gone already.

Mystic Springs Cove Inc.is an Airstream park located on the banks of the Escambia river, near Pensacola,FL. It says the avg. price is $12 a day or $360 a month. I don't know if that is a current price but it might be worth looking into.

Good luck!

I think its worth noting that anything along i10 with maybe the exception of California may have freezing temps overnight during winter.

I just saw an ad for "Hidden Valley Ranch RV resort" in Deming, NM.
Prices were really reasonable, IMO.
https://mobilerving.com/hidden-valle...rv-parks/14543

I've never been there, pretty far south.

Mesquite Nevada is a quiet place with golf, near National and state parks plus Las Vegas.

Just my personal observation, and not meant to be negative. Very nice folks at Mystic Springs when we stayed a couple of years ago. The park, however, needs a bit of love.

With whichever research site or app you use, check the Rio Grande Valley in Texas. McAllen, Mission, Harlingen. We stayed at Bentsen Palm RV Resort 5-7 years ago and it was fine. Theres also Bentsen Palm RV Resort Village, and many others.

I was not impressed with Mystic Springs "near" Pensacola. It wasn't near to anything. The campground, in a word, was 'depressing.'

Contact Land Yacht Harbor in Melbourne, Fl. on the Space Coast. We have spent the last 5 winter there. Great place. All 300 sites are concrete with patio, driveway, 8 x 10 metel shed with water, sewer and electric. All sites full hook up. Very attractive pricing for wintering in Florida in your Airstream. Now here is the biggy..... No Pets! No Children during winter season. Over age 50. We love the No Pets Policy. Give them a call. Really nice, well kept, clean park that is close to a lot of attractions.

Quartzsite. Like Burning Man for old people.
Complete opposite of Punta Gorda but lots of like minded fools fun to hang with. That and tons of sparkly rocks.
Over 11K acres. $180 from 9/15 to April 15. Or free for 14 days
Normal RV parks available if ur not ready to boondock.
Bon chance

Florida choices

Were living in our Airstream until house is built in Ocala, Florida. Were at Wilderness RV Resort in Silver Springs, Florida. Its on edge of Ocala national forest and a couple miles from Silver Springs state park, home of famous glass bottom boats. They may still have some availability, you can also rent from private owners like we are doing.
There are also 2 other campgrounds nearby for seasonal rent, silver springs rv park and silver springs park.
Its about 3.5 hours north of PG, (we used to live in Cape Coral) so weather is a bit cooler in winter, but very nice for the most part. Today it is 85.
If you search Campendium youll also find a few other places west of interstate and in surrounding area.
Good luck

I love the BIG Q. But only for the real boondockers. Me I am to old for Burning Man can't keep up that pace any more.

If you find yourself wandering this winter, you could check out Texas Airstream Harbor in Zavalla Texas, on the shores of Lake Sam Rayburn.

The title of this thread caught my eye because I am watching the national auction sites for salvage Airstreams after the hurricane. The very first one I saw tonight was a unit coming out of Punta Gorda.

I have a buddy who lives at the Voyager RV Resort. We visited a few times and stayed in one of his Park Models. May not be what you're looking for, but they do have a portion of the resort with full hookup sites.
