Looking for campgrounds ideas on Texas Coast

We are planning to go camping on the Texas Coast (Port Lavaca, Palacious, Corpus Christi areas) during the Christmas/New Year break. Any recommendations for nice campgrounds? TIA
Victoria

Hi Victoria, Ann and I like the LCRA campground in Matagorda. Full hookups and almost right on the beach. There was also a small on in Palacios right on the water, can't remember the name. Hope all is well with you and Joseph.

Texas Gulf Coast

One of our favorites is Gulf Waters RV Park south of Port Aransas on Mustang Island. We spent a week there this past summer as a mini vacation and it was great. All of the sites are individually owned and landscaped by the owners. The price is higher than some places but well worth it. Private boardwalk access to the beach, pool , hottub, all the amenities. Check out their website.

There is the National Seashore on Padre Island (see threads). Corpus Christi and Rockport host a number of "winter Texans" at many parks; and the State of Texas has quite a few campgrounds relatively near the shore, improved and primitive both. Woodalls and the like would have more information on private campgrounds; and I like to use RV Park Reviews :: Home as a starting and ending point for research and recommendations.

Lake Corpus Christi State Park 5 miles west of Mathis. A beautiful wildlife preservation area with full hookups...and away from the maddening crowds.

Lake Corpus Christi

website says water & electric hookup only - which would be consistent with all TX state parks.

But it doesn't look like full hookup - no sewage hookup.
Unless I missed something?

Whoops. Sorry about That....no sewer but there is a dump station. I remember the Javelina hanging around it.

Blanco State Park is the one with full hookups....and WI FI even.
