Bahi Honda. Camping right on the beach. Florida Parks has a good web site.

Bahi Honda is probably the most popular State Park Fl. You would be well advised to check for a reservation ASAP. Generally in the winter months, Jan Feb, and March they fill up 11 before the date of arrival.

You could be looking at $100.00 plus per night.
Try Marathon. It is only about 1/2 way out but beats $100.00.

You can make backup reservations at one of the commercial parks ($100+ per nite) but if you are persistent.....you can probably snag something at Bahia Honda. We were there during the Christmas holidays and I had to be online two minutes after the reservation window opened (11 months in advance) to get those. I initially had 14 days reserved, but we canceled one week of that. Cancellations occur all the time......you just have to check the Reserve America site daily. Don't try to reserve the whole stay at once.....if a couple of days are available, take them and hope that you can pick up a few more later. The worst thing that would happen is that you might have to move to another site during your stay, or cancel your reservation.....and, that's only going to cost you $10. Here is a link to the video of our visit to Bahia Honda in December:

Good luck!

Hope this helps . . .
Several other suggestions:
Big Pine Fishing Lodge (NO PETS ALLOWED - Key deer)
(good Gulf & Atlantic boat access)
Big Pine Key
Blue Water ($$$$ . . . $$$$$$$$) But still my fav
(Each site with private dock & tiki hut.) MM 14.5
Shallow boat entry. Must know what you are doing.
***Pic w/palm trees & tiki hut
Long Key SP - No big boat access - Kayaks good
***pic w/o trees
Curry Hammock - No big boat access - Kayaks good - VERY CLEAN
***pic w/full kayak length visible, ocean is right there also just same color as the sky. Hard to see the horizon in this picture.
Yes, Bahia Honda SP good.
***pic w/bridge in background & for reverse shot see my ID pic on the far LEFT.
