Long weekend at Jennings Ferry CG

We loaded up last Saturday and headed north about 150 miles to a COE CG named Jennings Ferry Campground. This was our first time staying at a COE and really did not know what to expect. But, for $11 a night (with an Interagency Pass) what did we have to lose? Check in was a bit bumpy, but we were the host's first customers flying solo.

We found a spot and got all setup. We were right on the water, actually on 2 sides and our nearest neighbor was quite a way off. Nice level pads, huge gravel patios with grills, work tables, picnic table, fire ring and a lantern pole.

The trees were changing colors and were in full blown yellows and reds. Lots of wildlife around as well. One caveat is that you will not be able to get in this place when Alabama is playing at home. All the campgrounds in the area are full to the rafters around game days.

We met a forum member who was on their way home and had a nice time talking to them.

So, we hung around until Tuesday, loaded up and drove back home completely relaxed and recharged.

Here are some pics:

Sorry, yes right off I20/59 at the Eutaw exit. Go east on Hwy 14 through town and turn right after the high bridge.

It looks like a great spot. We will put this one on our list of spots to visit. The pictures look great, and so does the Q-steer Sub.

Looks like fun.
Your Suburban appears to have 2007-up wheels.

Not sure. The PO put them on. 17" wheels with 10 ply LT tires. They are beasts. But, the whole thing is a beast!

They are 2007-up wheels. The originals would have been 16"- still mighty, mighty beasts-
COE parks are da bomb!
