Lexington KY to Crossville TN

Any suggestions for a good route between Lexington KY and Crossville, TN?
GPS shows a couple of options on state highways but I hate to depend on gps when towing as it sometimes puts you on questionable roads.

I know we could just stay on I 75 to Knoxville and then take I 40 west but that seems to be about an hour out of the way and we prefer the secondary highways when we can.

Thanks!

I like the interstate for that trip and I do not know of a good way on secondary roads, There may be but that area is hilly and there are some truly bad roads that could come up on the gps. I would love to hear of a good secondary route also.

If you are going to TCPC in Crossville do not use GPS directions. Use website directions.

I think you will find that the interstate is quicker than any other route for that trip. And yes to approaching TCPC from the correct direction if that is the destination. If you come in the wrong way you cannot make the turn and there is no close, easy way to turn around.

Thanks for the suggestions. We ended up staying on the interstate.
