We made an outing out to Lassen National Park. We have never been there and basically went by the seat of our pants. We had planned or hoped to park at the Summit lake campground, but very tight sites and only a few places for a trailer and they were occupied. So we headed back down to Crags campground and much more wide open. But we would have to vacate the next day for tree work. So the next morning off we went. That turned out to be a big favor. We went into the ranger station in Hot Station and they told us of some sites that is a favorite to camp along Hat Creek. What a treat!!!!! Great spots and many to pick from and free!!!!!!!!!! Secluded and quiet and on and on. We stayed there and explored the park from there. The last night we pulled up stakes, went into the park to use the dumping station and then headed over towards Butte Lake. Found another site just alittle ways from the lake. A great cul de sac along a creek again. Quiet, secluded, and free. Needless to say, we had a great trip.
