Las Vegas Camping
Planning a trip to Vegas from Michigan in Aug/Sept. This will be our first out of state trip for a family celebration on the strip. I'm sure any traveling advice and campground information you can offer will help us.

Are you looking for just information regarding Las Vegas? Or, the whole trip? What kind of campgrounds do you prefer? More "rustic" boondocking types or full hookups?
I have about 3 apps on my iPhone that I find quite useful in helping us when we are traveling. Some days we don't get as far as we think and if we have planned ahead then suddenly we are looking. The apps I find useful are: GasBuddy (helps you find current prices in different cities, etc.); AllStays Camp and RV app; Oh, Ranger! app; and my favorite: Campwhere. There are also lots of good apps for truck stops, etc. Sometimes it is much easier to find fuel or water, and dump stations at truck stops.
Let us know what route you are thinking about... I am sure others will chime in! Have fun!

Las Vegas in August/September wow no place I'd rather "not" be. It's not too late to rethink this is it? Nothing says camping like asphalt and casinos. I'd save that trip for spring, winter or fall unless you fly.
From what I've heard from others on the forum so called campgrounds in LV are expensive. One forum member said that the Circus Circus was almost $80 a night! Good lord, you can get a room for half of that and they make the bed!

Looking to meet friends in Vegas for a couple days. Just checked prices for 4 nights in late June and range from $60.00 low end to $83.00 on the high side. WOW, well out of my range

You're scaring me. I'm assuming mainly because of the heat, which I am wary of. My Aunt wants to celebrate her 80 birthday September 4 in Vegas and since we have this trailer and have friends to see in Pahrump and Henderson and the Grand Canyon, we decided to make the trip. AAA helped me plan via route 40 I believe. We'll likely stay in Vegas 3 nights then move on.

Not on the strip, but we've stayed at Arizona Charlie's RV Park on the Henderson Highway and it is nice, and not too expensive. Arizona Charlie's Casino is next door, and not bad. They have a very good buffet. We go to LV because our son is stationed there in the USAF, and are actually going again next month.

It has been some time since we "camped" (if you call a parking lot with hookups camping...) in Las Vegas. However, if you are bringing a pet be sure to have air conditioning... when we were there last our cat was traveling with us and he sat right in front of the air conditioner the whole time!
