Kings Canyon, Hume Lake

New to AS Forum, could use some help! We are two couples with 2 AS headed in Sept to Kings Canyon, Sequoias, and possibly Hume Lake. This will be really our first real trip. We could use suggestions for camp sites, parks etc. We are planning after Labor day during the week.

Thanks for any Help!

Very coincidental Hume Lake

So funny. Being relitively so new at our Airstreams as well, a recent new AS friend and us decided to book today for our "1st " outing and sites at Hume Lake.
We're booking sites 9+10 Sept 12-15.

Always nice to notice Airstreams in the
Sequoias !

We are headed to Kings Canyon for the first time in a few weeks. I can't tell you much about it except for we are at Dorst Creek Campground.

If you go to nps.gov you can get facts about the park, including a link to the NP campground reservation system. Between the two you can get a good overview of the NP campgrounds.

Never been there - still can't wait!!

Kings Canyon, Hume Lake

Dorst Creek is in Sequoia National Park, about an hours drive from Kings Canyon National Park. Sequoia and Kings Canyon are beautiful parks. Enjoy your trip!

We were new to airstreaming last year and we made an epic trip across the US in our 16 Sport. One of the best campsites we stayed in was Azalea in Kings Canyon. Gorgeous sequoias and pine needled floors. Very peaceful. The sites were large enough for the big airstreams too. We stayed in the highlands of Yosemite next and the sites were snug, we fit but the big rigs would not. Also believe it or not, Kings Canyon campground(Azalea) was way more beautiful. Like a pine cathedral.

We, too, stayed in Azalea with our 23' FC. Beautiful campground. We were able to travel in mid-September and arrive on a Monday, so getting a campsite was not difficult. I have camped in Kings Canyon since I was a kid (back when dinosaurs roamed the earth) and always love to go back.

Just back from our week in Sequoia Natnl Park. Been 20+ years since tent camping. Stayed 3 nights at LodgePole campground. Our 25fts just fit many nearby comforts but far enough away to keep a camping experience. No hookups but fresh water spickets abound. Very nice surrounding areas with nearby running stream, market, lodge, bathrooms, warm showers and dump station with ample parking. [ATTACH]272089[/ATTACH

Next 2 nights at 45 min away at Hume Lake campground. Dry but water spickets. Our site 300 ft from shores. Beautiful. must walk natural trail all around lake. Campsites nice bit dry/dusty at end of season. (Mid Sept) beautiful !
