Itching to Stream...
Greetings –
Boy – I don’t know about all you other tundra dwellers, but Don and I are REALLY getting the itch to do some ‘streaming. We both felt separation anxiety when we tightened the tarp over Desire (our '70 Overlander) last November. Our dining room table has of late become a tactical command post – we’ve got atlases and brochures scattered here, there and at every place setting.
We are hoping for nice weather by the end of April. We need to be over in the Chippewa Falls area of Wisconsin on that last weekend and hope to make this our first outing of the year. That would actually mark the 1 year anniversary of our taking physical possession of Desire.
We are planning to stay a little closer to home for Memorial Day weekend, maybe venturing over by Lake Winnebago. The week of July 4th looks to take us over to Duluth-Superior where we will rendezvous with family members for a mini-reunion.
Ah, bid spring return!

Hi Derin_Don
If I were you I'd be goin crazy! Nov to April without streamin. Yikes. Thats like my version of H-E double hocky sticks.
Where else are you guys planning to go?
You can say anything you want about Calif.(and most of its probably true.) but there will be a group of us in Malibu next weekend braving winter temps in the '60's.
I don't think I could survive your Winter.
Be strong you are on the downslope to adventure in your very pretty A/S.

Hello Derin -- Welcome to the Forums! Looks like Don introduced himself last May. Nice Overlander in your profile pic!
Tundra is right. It gets to me this time of year reading posts from folks rallying in other parts of the country. Planning is fun but there's nothing like heading out on the road. Apply the Harley Rule and hope for a good rain by late April to wash the salt off the roads. Come back again.

We are itching to get back in ours too, and we live in Florida where it's not freezing or buried under snow. Had to put it away after the Can Opener rally in January, and work keeps us at home (hate it when that happens ). We go over to the storage facility where it's kept and give it a hug every so often .

Welcome to the Forums. It sounds like you have big plans for the camping season. Our advice is go every time that you can for as long as you can.

I feel your pain. Last trip was the week of Labor day. Can't wait to hook Arvin up and head somewhere, anywhere.

Don and I took a little road trip yesterday afternoon. We are scouting campgrounds for Memorial Day weekend. Owing to respective jobs, we can't get too far from home but took a little drive through the Westward Ho campground in Glenbeulah, WI (in the Kettle Morraine). Anyone ever been? They have been highly rated by Trailer Life. The campground looks spotless (it's buried under several inches of snow but seems to be a very thoughtfully run operation). We saw one Airstream in the seasonals that are parked there. The place seems very geared to families but it also seems that people are not piled immediately on top of one another. Would appreciate any feedback.
