Is this an Airstream?

I saw this MoHo this morning at our RV park and it had "Airstream" all over it.

It looks brand new and I have never seen anything like it.

Does anyone know if this is a special edition or maybe a custom job?

Look closely at the words "Airstream" above the windshield and on the grill.

It sure is, they made motor homes for a few years after Thor bought Airstream.

A bit off.

First airstream motorhomes were Argosies: 1974-1979.

First aluminum Airstreams: 1979.

Thor buys Airstream: 1980.

Is this an Airstream?

Yup, my parents lived full time in their Airstream Land Yacht class A motor home for several years. Their RV had the swept-back windshield. They were WBCCI #4312 at the time, though their number has since been reassigned.

Here's a link to one we saw this February in Davenport, FL. Very nice looking AS-RV. Didn't get to see the inside but the owner is very nice.

We saw numerous AS RVs at the Travelers' Rest RV park (formerly an all AS park). It was a real treat to just drive up and down the streets to see them all.

You'll also find bonded-laminate fiberglass trailers bearing the Argosy and Airstream names from roughly 1986 to around 1993-ish.

They were lovingly known as "Squarestreams."

The Squarestreams and non-silver, conventional construction motorhomes caused quite a rift in the WBCCI for many years.

And speaking of fiberglass trailers . .

Did you see that Airstream bought Nest Caravan:

Does anybody have advanced information on what they are planning to do with this brand? Airstream fiberglass units?

You probably already know that Rocinante was also Don Quixote's horse. It was said that Don Quixote mounted Rocinante and "rode off in all directions. Sound like Airstreamers.:-)

...and that's exactly the point, thanks! We like our RV's name for a bunch of fun reasons. We were just initially inspired by Steinbeck's book.

I have a Squarestream, but it's not fiberglass. It's aluminum with something bonded onto the metal. There's no doubt now about the metal, since we recently drilled a hole for installing an electrical outlet.
