Cool Is the Gaspésie Peninsula in Quebec worth the trip?

Hi,

We are planning to tour the Canadian Maritimes in the late summer and early fall.

There is a National Park, Forillon, located on the eastern most tip of the Gaspésie peninsula. The park stands at the point where the St Lawrence river mixes with the saltwater of the Atlantic.

Is the journey that far north-east worth the trip?

Your experienced insights will be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Yes - if you go during the “leaf change”- we were there this past Fall and it was gorgeous. Also highly recommend Cape Breton and the Cabot Trail on Nova Scotia.

Starting at Post #63 they head north from Portland, Maine.

We went to PEI back in the 90's and had a great trip. Just a little SE of your intended destination:

Have fun!

Gaspe Visit

I visited Gaspe by train from Montreal in June 2005. It is an interesting area however if you have any time constraints I would focus on Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island. Of course a very long drive may be your cup of tea and there are beautiful vistas along the way.
