Interstate 70 over Vail, Aspen, and Eagle has to be one of the worst Highways in America, Colorado has spent all of its money on Bongs for their hemp and abandoned their highway upkeep.
Our recent trip over this pass was so rough that several important things broke in our 2020
Caravel 19cb:
> Tabs on the rectangular sink that hold the sink down to the counter ALL snapped off. They are just epoxied on but they all snapped off so that our stainless steel sink was just floating on the countertop.
> Hinges on the door became loose and so the door would not shut cleanly. I was wondering why the door was getting rough to close and I noticed that both hinges were standing off from the body. I removed the little chrome cover on the hinge bolts (just glued on) and tried to tighten the hinge attachment bolts - no luck, they have hidden nuts under the sking on the interior. These can only be tightened by removing interior aluminum panels.
> Several rivets were lying on the floor, they hjad loosened and just fallen to the floor, not as difficult fix.
Contacted our excellent local Airstream dealer/service and have an appointment a month from now to deal with the hinges>
If you have to cross Interstate 70 in Colorado, there is no safe speed to go, we were well under the speed limit and got shook to death.
Of course all the weekend skiers will fly by you at unreasonable speeds but that's their deal.
