Idaho fall Moto trip
Hey guys and gals,
I thought I'd share some pic and a trip report from my recent motorcycle camping adventure. Took my camper to Idaho from Montana to camp a few weeks back. I pull the 2019 22 sport FB with my Ford Transit T150 van. It works out great because I can fit two dirt bikes and all my camping gear in the van with its 3500 lbs capacity. I tend to put everything in the van except a few things that go in the airstream. It was amazing fall weather. Temperatures did dip down into the mid teens a few nights. Camper was not plugged in I was able to get enough power from my solar during the day to charge my renogy 100ah battery. My 200 W solar suitcase pulled in 27 A one day and 30 the next it could have done more but that's all I used. Only scare I had was with the cold, I could tell my battery was going to take a while to warm up to be able to take a charge. I've since ordered a battle born heated 100 amp hour battery.
I do not own a generator but I have plans to get a little Honda or Harbor freight.

Beautiful photos, can you share where you stayed, looks like maybe it was an NFS campground ? Regarding generator, I recommend you get 1 up from the small Honda or other, go with ~2200 watts peak, that gives you the flexibility to be able to run a microwave, or toaster, or even the a/c if you have a soft start. Size is only slightly larger, but cost is certainly more impactful. I have a Honda and really appreciate how quiet they are compared to many others on the market. Even at that, we rarely use it, but are grateful we have it for those times it helps simplify/enhance some meals. Thanks for sharing your photos.

Yes that’s a forest service campground near Stanley Idaho. Casino creek. Thanks for the advice on the generator.

Great Pictures
Thanks for sharing the photos! I see your on some single track trails, is there allot of single track trails in that area?
We used to bring a generator but now have 400 wats of solar on the top of our trailer (27 FCFB) and also a portable 200 wat suitcase panel I built. That is more than enough to charge our batteries by Noon. Don't even bring the Gen now. Cannot run the air but usually try to camp at high elevation if it's hot or go to a campground with power if the former is not an option.
Happy Trails!

Idaho City
We were in Idaho City last September and stayed for 3 days at Trudy's Campground & Cafe. They have full hook ups and close enough to 100's of miles of single track to ride to daily. We also stayed a few days a the 10 mile camp area. Great boondocking sites. Also with plenty of single track around. Trudy's is great for breakfast and across the street at the Gold Mine Saloon is great for dinner, drinks and some bag toss. Diamond Lil's was okay too but not as friendly as Gold Mine and Trudy's

Don't assume they're wolf tracks. I hunt them in Idaho (where I happen to be hunting for them at the present time), and wherever you find trails, roads, atv or motorcycle tracks in conjunction with what you suspect are wolf tracks you might as well assume what you've sighted is a dog footprint (yes some dogs have large feet). You'll need further proof for confirmation such as scat, etc. to have a better than reasonable assumption it was a wolf. Just take the advice of an experienced Idaho wolf hunter who's had similar "false alarms"......... 🐺 <--- 🔫🤠👍
