I95 Airstream Service Centers

In a couple weeks I'm getting the heck out of frozen Dodge to FL.

I'd love to stop at a great place to get my 2017 FC 25 de-winterized.

Who do you recommend beginning in Georgia on I95?

FWIIW I can de-winterize myself on the road but it's really nice to have this done at a great service center in case there is something unforseen.

*Camping world in Jacksonville, FL is on my route for instance.

To me the terms "Great service center" and "Camping World" should not appear in the same sentence.
There are Airstream dealers in Gainesville, Orlando, Tampa, Ft. Meyers, and W. Palm.

J. D. Sanders in Alachua/Gainesville (not on I-95, I know, but may be worth the trip) gets high recommendations on here. I have never used their service, but they have given me excellent parts support.

Dewinterized. You should be able to do that yourself. Not much to it. Open water heater bypass close low point drains and run some water through the system. Any unforeseen seen will show itself quickly and I would beware of the upsale and a dealer just doing some work as preventive and is not needed

Understood GMFL and thanks for everyones observations. I'm a competent wrench, just trying to scoot out from doing any fixes before arriving at my N.FL destination campground. I'm new to the game so had no idea camping world was not credible. That's why I'm here thankyouverymuch

I'll check out the other recommends.

The Airstream (corporate site) claims this is an Airstream dealer in Jacksonville:

You can de-winterize your trailer on your own.
Turn the water heater bypass valve in line with the water supply line.
Connect city water.
Run water till all pink is gone and water runs clear.
No biggie.

Don't stop at the Camping World AS dealer in Thornburg, VA. They are terrible.

Before Camping World bought the dealership they were fantastic.

Too Tall, I know you’re new to the game and I am too but the first thing I learned is that not just any ol RV Center is qualified to touch Airstream’s let alone actually do any work on them. JD Sanders is Gainesville may be your best bet but before you just show up please call ahead and make an appointment. RV shops down here are extremely busy this time of year with all the other Airstreamer trying to get out of the cold as well. One other word of caution, if they can’t produce an Airstream certificate, a recent one, and hopefully have more than just one guy who actually went to JC for training you might want to keep looking, and yes, unfortunately I have data on this. a seemingly simple AC unit replacement under warranty ended up doing over $5,000.00 damage. It’s your Airstream, your money and your time but for me, if I can’t figure out how to do something or a fellow Airstremer can’t help me (and quite frankly I wouldn’t let a few of those guys touch it either ) then my Airstream has to go to JC. Honestly, just trying to help.

We have taken our 25í to three different AS dealers and have been very disappointed each time. I have purchased manuals, have asked questions on this forum and started taking care of our trailer myself. Iím 74 and it takes me a little longer but I know itís done right and Iím not disappointed. I have traveled across this USA talking to a lot of AS owners and not one has not had a bad deal at AS dealers. However this might improve now that AS dealers are now being AS owned. But the judge is in the service that we get after sales.

I'm not disappointed infact y'all are awesome. I'll load up my tools, teflon tape and take care of business myself...you've made a good case.
Thank you

The Thornburg, VA location used to have all good people there. There still are a few good people there. Previous ownership, Safford Automotive, really wanted to slowly build a first class place. Camping World, not so much. Big difference with local multi family ownership; and those who have to answer to shareholders.

They really are the Walmart of RVs.
