I-40 between Little Rock and Johnson City

Anyone driven this lately that can give me a construction heads up? Last year eastbound between LR and Memphis had a long stretch of only one lane. We are headed that way next Sat/Sun. Or at least the part as far as Nashville

Thanks
Dana

I just realized that it has been so long since I traveled east of Little Rock that I cant answer the question...

I will bump it to the top though.

There was construction a month ago. I recall west bound being worse.

We just traveled the route and found not hold ups at all. A little construction but nothing than slowed us down.

i40 thru West Memphis had sections down to 1 lane when I was thru there a couple of weeks back. Skinny lanes, lots of trucks for about 5 miles.

Was that westbound or eastbound or both?

wondering whether I might ought to look at alternate route from at least Village Creek (ARK) State Park past Memphis on the way to Nashville

Both east and west, it's a dynamic area so what was good may now be bad. They were grinding the bridges so they were the biggest pinch. If you are absolutely dead set and want to minimize the time in the construction, you can (if west bound) peel off on I55 south then hit the 240 loop to get yourself over to 40 east of town.

Of course as soon as you do that you will find out that all if 40 east has just been completed with wide lanes and new pavement!
