I-10 Westbound, LA and TX
I couldn’t find the recent thread on this, so this is an update. Many have warned about I-10 in the Lake Charles area, and it’s bad. Returning from Florida this week, we took the 210 West Bypass around Lake Charles and found the road very acceptable. It adds maybe 10+ minutes versus going through town, but no roller coaster ride either.
Much worse, horrendous in fact, is the first +/- 10 miles Westbound from the Texas border. Slow down to maybe 50, lower if that’s not enough. And, be aware that from Katy Westbound there is +/- 40 miles of continuous construction with numerous lane changes.
