Thankfully my trailer is safely out of the storms path, but my boat is in a marina at Ft. Pierce, FL. It is definitely not out of the cone. I had my maintenance guys yesterday doubling and adding lines and large fenders. Loose materials moved to the cabin. All I can do now is hope that it survives.

Sounds like it is veering away from Florida, per the Today show just now.

Yep, and you might rethink that, tho by the 10th it may be over...but for downed trees, power outages, etc.

Not sure what your intended route was, but if you head out for Nashville and Birmingham AL for the first two nights on the road, you should be out of harm's way in my opinion. Then by Saturday, you will have a better sense of which route to take and the timing.
Knoxville -- Chattanooga -- Atlanta would be a little shorter maybe, but possibly closer to Matthew if the storm tracks more westward.
Going over the Appalachians via Asheville might be a problem . . .
Orlando by Monday afternoon should be no prob, again IMO, although Maggie raises a good point about the condition of roads etc. as you approach Orlando.
Have fun!
Peter

Take these hurricane path directions with a grain of saltwater. I remember Hurricane Andrew was predicted to make landfall in Jacksonville, FL. We were fishing in the Florida Keys when we found out that it was taking a left turn and heading for south Miami and the Florida Keys. Lived through too many of these to trust the talking heads.

We're on the barrier island in NSB FL.
Taking our bambi with us ~ 5 miles inland tucking it against my inlaws house where hopefully it will be sheltered from the North wind we're expecting.
Spent the last 24hrs boarding up houses and my office building.

Do not test your luck with this storm. If you're anywhere near the Atlantic coast of FL, GA, SC and maybe even NC, the time to hitch up your Airsteam and move is *right now*.
Here's an example of a forecast for Miami in FL. Note how strongly they urge you to ignore the forecast cone and the boundaries of that cone when deciding what to do. http://www.weather.gov/mfl/
Again, I urge you - do not test your luck. Your Airstream is a travel trailer, so now's the time to travel.
Best wishes, be safe, dry and warm.

Our route is an Installation rally at Paintsville Lake in KY on Thursday, Friday is travel to Jonesboro, GA to visit the in-laws until Sunday morning. Sunday we are supposed to stay at Reed Bingham SP near Adel, GA and Monday morning heading towards Orlando. At this point I am preparing myself for long traffic jams on I-75 due to Florida folks heading back home. Hoping the worst is over by Monday.

I think they have mandatory evacuations going on at Myrtle Beach, SC. When is the last time Ocean Lakes Campground looked like this?

I would be in no hurry to get back down to Orlando and points East & South after the storm, as they will likely be cleaning up the mess for some time. Nobody's going to be installing anything or anyone until that's done.

It looks like it will come really close to our RV park. I went there today to secure any loose items, but there wasn't much to be done. It will hit Friday AM. So we're planning on heading over Friday PM to (hopefully) clean up.

Alachua county expects 60 mph winds for 12 to 20 hours. Gainesville, 60 miles inland.

That might be too soon, it's moving slowly. Ar you on the west coast?
