Easy - go for a ride in your tow vehicle, open the window and stick your head out. It will blow dry quickly unless it is in the winter.

Hm. Trying to remember if wife and daughter actually even brought a hair dryer along on last trip. Don't remember hearing it if they did.

Matters not, we usually camp hooked up, and if not, our 3400 watt Inverter generator is nice and quiet when needed.

What little hair I have left dries quickly with a towel.

We made every factory 120Vac duplex outlet plus all the others we added run off our Magnum MS-2800 inverter in our 2014 31’ Classic. We have nine 100 watt solar panels charging a 600 amp hour lithium battery. Hair dryer use is a non-issue. We can even run an air conditioner for a lunch break beside the road.

Our 2015 23D International Serenity has the same 120Vac wiring conversion running off a Magnum hybrid MS-3012 inverter. The five 100 watt solar panels feed a 300 amp hour lithium battery. Hair dryer works, but takes twice as long to recharge the battery. We also carry one of our two 2,000 watt Honda generators so with the help of the Magnum drawing startup power from the battery, can even run the air conditioner.

Well I also have a travel butane dryer but have never taken it Airstreaming. I can’t help with OTG blow drying suggestions but I can offer an old modeling technique...when we are OTG I simply air dry my hair for a short time then brush, brush, brush and put in a couple of Velcro rollers while I have brekkie or do makeup. This actually helps hair to dry smoother and silkier than air drying alone. So easy and effective that sometimes I do this even when we have hookups.

My wife

and I hop in our tow vehicle. I drive and she sticks her wet hair out the window as I go down the highway at 45mph. Seems to work fine.

We boondock exclusively and my wife dries her hair with a low power hairdryer set on low. Our equipment is nothing special- just two golf cart batteries and a 1,000 watt inverter.

Someone mentioned Conair above.

The FitRV recommended the BaBylissPRO Tourmaline Titanium Travel Dryer. I got one and I love it.

Small low power hair dryer, turn off the AC. So this never happens in the summer. After a while I decided, hey I camped and backpacked for years without it, do I really need it now? No. I wear a perm and let it go curly.

Hair dryer

You can buy a 12 volt hair dryer if you really need to have a dryer.

I didn't realize the number of men that blow dry their hair. Curious.

Thank you to all the serious and non serious answers.

Our dry camping is at the Baloon Fiesta. I came up with a solution. Sit in our Ford F250 with the engine running and there is a plug to dry my hair. All is good. I don't want those AS'ers talking behind my back you know.

I do the best I can with just a towel or two, and then it's what it is. I won't be seeing any of these people ever again, so as long as I am clean, I'm fine. AND if I DO see them again, and it's not in a camping situation, they will be impressed with my "do". Also, I love hats.

Low heat low or high blower as well as, up to medium heat low blower speed uses less than 300 watts. High and high uses 1800 watts on DW’s. YMMV. Buy a Kill-A-Watt and test. 600w could power medium heat high blower speed.

I have a Braun Style Shaper brush and a Braun Curling Iron. We are usually plugged in, but occasionally you find yourself making do somewhere. I towel dry then go outside and brush, brush, brush with the heated butane brush til dry. Then you can go in and use the curling iron. We never had an inverter until our latest AS and haven't had the need to try it.
