Help for NJ campground/Seaside Heights/Park

Hi All,
I would consider us newbies and ready to head out on our first week long camping trip. The Airstream is getting the brakes and bearings checked, and I am getting our gear together.

One place I need help with is a good campground on the NJ shore. We are going from Massachusetts to NC and back. On the way back I thought the trip would be less painful and the kids would have fun stopping along the NJ shore - I am looking at the Toms River area (near Seaside Heights, Seaside Park- some fun factor for the kids).

Can anyone make a recommendation on a good campground to spend a couple of nights?

Thanks in advance for your advice,

Martha

Seaside is not the nicest place in NJ.

I would suggest you look further south around Wildwood if you want a good boardwalk and great beach for the kids and close to Cape May for a great place to visit for the adults.

A campground between each that I have used is Beachcomer.
Welcome to Beachcomber Camping Resort

There are several other campgrounds in that area where as the selection is limited around Toms River.

While coming north this is a bit out of the way to cross southern Jersey but I think worth it.

You do want to make a reservation in the summer.
