Because we're there for eight days.
As an old Army guy, I can go without showering, but asking my wife or daughter to do the same...I'm not doing that. So I make provisions to keep everyone clean and happy.

Why is this so complicated?

Better check your insurance coverage in case someone trips on your 175’ hose. I don’t think Park Rangers will look kindly on your plan.

As a Park Ranger, if he is tending the hose and not obstructing traffic, I don’t care.

What are the park rules?

In this case, there is no rule concerning the OP’s plan to refill his tank with a long hose using a water thief. I would not want him blocking the road or leaving the hose deployed but that comes under general safety which is at a Ranger’s discretion.

Well your giving the OP good information he can rely on, that’s great.

Yeah, that is absolutely the plan. Have everything attached and ready to go, walk across the street trailing my hose, attach to spigot, turn on water, download 30 gallons of sweet glorious H2O, and walk back across the street with my hose. 5-10 minutes tops.
Then drink a cold beer.

I filled up there a few times with a 100' hose. There was no issue. I don't recall needing the water bandit, I do carry one. You need hose clamps both ends if you are going to use it regularly.

Welp, I have a confession to make. I'm not a doctor, dr stands for David Richard. My avatar photo is age progressed using an app on my phone; I feel like it lends me some credibility. So I can carry six gallons of water at a time, I just don't want to. And I've been trying unsuccessfully to change the data on my profile for about a year, most notably my home state is Illinois, not Alabama.

Talking

Good ones thanks!

Gotta try that age progression app . . . not that a recent photo needs much further "progress" . . .

Happy trails,
