Griddle Storage
Hi all,
I recently purchased a 17" Blackstone grill (based on forum input) + the hood. It measures 18" wide x 18" depth and 9" high. All put together, it weighs 29.2 pounds. I had originally thought I would store it in my large front AS compartment. However, I now realize that it is too unwieldy and heavy to place inside that compartment which is behind the propane tank. (And I see some serious back strain in my future if I try it). AND I really don't want to add any more weight to the front (I have a 25' FBT). I was thinking I could store it on the floor beneath the kitchen table (in rear) while traveling. The grill has 4 sturdy rubber feet which I think would keep the grill from sliding around. I tested that idea by trying to shove it across my kitchen counter here at home and it doesn't budge. But I also know what can happen inside a trailer when it travels. What do you all think? Thanks for any suggestions.
P.S. I know someone is going to suggest the truck but I have the truck bed so squared away that I'd prefer the grill resided in trailer.

That's not any bigger than a suitcase or a cooler. Should not be a problem. If you are concerned that it needs to be in a container of some sorts, then I suggest a large zipper bag of sorts. Then put that bag on a piece of nonstick shelf liner to keep it from moving. I did a google search and it looks like Amazon sells bags made for this.

That is exactly what I do. Except I don’t think our storage is Rubbermaid. It’s whatever Costco sells. I also have a lectric griddle that sits in a cardboard box on top of the barbecue tub.

I have a plastic dock box in the back of the truck for those things. I don't have a flat top but a gas grill, table, road flare, lighter fluid, etc stored in there.

One of the main reasons we got a rear bedroom. Not for that grill, but access in general.

I have the same Blackstone, minus the hood. Blackstone makes a travel bag which is a good thing to have. It's a vinyl cover plus a very sturdy zipper bag, no leaks.
Mine rides in the passenger floor side of the truck. It's heavy, so less hoisting is better. (Your passenger may have other ideas.)

Hi
We travel with various things on the floor in the trailer. Under this or that set of road conditions they all move around. The general tendency is for things to move forward in the trailer. Stuff put under the dinette seems to migrate out from under it and then wind up resting against the sofa at the front of the trailer. I've pretty much given up putting things anywhere other than right up against the sofa.
