Talking Greenbrier Valley WV

Many things to do in this area. Wonderful countryside. Lewisburg WV has
some great places to eat and shop in the old downtown. Saturday morning farmers market is great. WIFI cafe very comfy and quiet.

Nice looking campground. What are the rates? Water, electric, sewer or dump station? How many sites?

Nice - thanks for the suggestion. And welcome to the Forums, from a fellow Virginian.

Greenbrier State Forest

Here's the link to the campground..$23 per night. several level sites, 16 sites total, no water/sewer, just electric. Camp facilities utilize well water.
No dump site, however, just out the gate of state park is a private campground, and for $10, Miss Cindy will let you use her facilities and it was real easy to get to.

Wow! My maternal grandmother was born on Droop Mountain.

A beautiful part of the country you're in!

Lewisburg

Thanks, it has been a while since I have been in this area but have fond memories of the General Lewis Inn just on the edge of town. A great Bed & Breakfast as well as a great restaurant for dinner. Have paddled the Greenbriar from Caldwell to Roncevert. There is also a great rails to trails bicycle path along the Greenbriar River. Of course no visit to the Lewisburg area is complete without a trip to the Greenbriar. They went private a few years ago but you can still get access to the restaurant for breakfast if you give the guard at the gate a sad story how you always wanted to visit the Greenbriar.
