Any of the COE campgrounds on the large impoundments are a good bet. Most are water and electricity with dump stations. Once the campgrounds open in April you will need to reserve if coming in on a weekend. Most of my experience is with Table Rock Lake near Branson as I used to live in Nixa, MO. If you have the federal senior pass the sites are discounted. Missouri state parks are good too. Most are just electric sites. They have a reservation system too as the summers book up especially at the trout parks, like Roaring River. We've stayed at Roaring River, Pomme de Terre and Table Rock Lake SPs. Spring time weather in Missouri can be severe with hail producing thunderstorms and possible tornadoes so keep an eye on the weather.

We travel through MO a few times every year. They're state parks are absolutely top notch.
We like Longbranch a lot but I don't think you can go wrong with any of their state parks.

The nicest state park we have experienced is Wallace. It is just a bit Northeast of KC. We stayed there on our way to Hamilton, which has a lot of quilting stores featuring the Misouri Star Quilting Company. Wallace is well loved by the staff, with trees, grass, paved sites and a very nice bath house. Pat

COE Mark Twain Lake outstanding, clean paved very well maintained and hot water in showers run until you turn off plus very clean. Close to Mark Twain [Clemmons] Boy hood home. About 30 miles to Hannibal, rich in history. Many fishing tournaments and good bass fishing. Other history around lake area.

Last summer we stayed at a place called Cottonwood RV park in Columbia MO. Nice people and a very well run park.

If you will be near Jefferson City, the state capital, you might consider Binder Park. It is run by the city. It is a few miles west of the city off of US 50.

Maramac Springs Park between St. James and Steelville in the Missouri Ozarks. Private park-like facility owned and operated by a private foundation of the original land owner’s family. Perhaps the bast-kept RV secret in the state of Missouri. Easy access to I-44.

Missouri's got a good State Park website. Most parks are really nice. I've been to Arrow Rock, Meramec, Onondaga Cave, Johnson Shut Ins, Sam Baker and Lake of the Ozarks all several times. I have friends who go to Bennett Springs, Montauk, and Roaring River for trout fishing and like those parks. There's a new State Park, Echo Bluff, which is supposed to be nice with all full hook ups, but no shade
