Fuel Prices Dampen Demand for RV's
Fuel prices have been rising rather quickly. Diesel is about $3.40/gal here in FL.
Do you think the higher prices will slow the demand for RV's?
Will these prices for fuel change your travel plans for the coming year?

No, not with current RV market, in North America.RV demand will continue to rise, as people continue to lose homes/ rentals, and are using RVs as full time lodging.Things are way worse than they appear.

Fuel prices have never been a factor in my RVing.
I also agree with B. Cole

Most of our camping is done within 150 miles of home, so fuel costs do not really have an affordability impact.

We never really thought about fuel prices when we bought our GT. I doubt if many people do when they're focused on the bright, shiny objects!

For those of us who used to work in the petroleum industry, the current price of gas/diesel seems a long way from burdensomely high.
If there is something that will hinder demand of new RVs going forward, I would bet it is the fact that practically every campground fills up on the weekends, and nothing new is being built. But as mentioned above, the trend toward "urban camping." is strong, and will only get stronger as the wave of evictions and foreclosures begins to crest. Then again, if someone can't pay rent, I am not sure how they would afford a new RV.

Talking 5.00~10.00 more per 100miles per trip.... all considered, gas/diesel, wine, beer, steaks, cigars, campsites ...not worth not going camping when added up !

I think it will if gas hits low 4 dollars (5$ for Ca.). Some many people has bought bigger and bigger Tow Vehicles to tow their bigger trailers.

Which is why the used market is not only tight but horrendously overpriced, especially for SOBs.

Agree with all especially the post above. If anything is deterring me right now it’s the fact that I cannot get into the campgrounds that I want to go to. Diesel in GA $2.70 ish. If I can’t afford a few extra dollars to fuel up my $60k truck to tow my $90k Airstream then we got a problem.
A lot of the spike we are seeing right now is due to temporary refinery shutdowns in Texas due to the recent historic winter storms. That should ease up soon.

I think west coast of Canada is some the worst gas prices anywhere in NA !...... prices are up the last few weeks and we pay about $4.25us$ per us gal today. I think most people just grumble ...fill up ...hook up and go.
We expect this summer to be crazy trying to get sites same as last summer.
I love my Tundra until I get to the gas station.....lol

Here in Northern California, we are over $4.00 a gallon for all fuels, I saw regular at $4.35 yesterday! The prices fluctuate and cities are more expensive than rural areas, but we've been over $3.50 for a couple of years now and it certainly hasn't dampened the RV market near us. We do love leaving California though, we can fill up in Oregon for so much less!
