Fresh water tank

Besides chlorinating and flushing the fresh water tank via the hose connection, is there another way to clean and rinse this tank. I notice there is a plate at the bottom of the tank (~6x8") across from the low point drain that appears to screw off. Having hard water, I wonder if I might hose out the tank more thoroughly from this opening.

Why not take the inspection port cover off, and check this out?

Sounds simple enough to reverse, with the correct sealant IMO. There is minimal water pressure even with a full tank.

What does your owner's manual say?

That inspection port is not illustrated from what I can find. Anything in your actual hard copy?

You might want to check in the Plumbing forum and related sub-forums IMO:

Good luck,
