Formula 1 at Austin, Lot N

Hi everybody,

I will attend the F1 race in Austin, Oct 2021. I will stay at the Lot N, Camping Site with an 30ft RV.

Asking for some help to solve some questions:

1) Does anybody know when and where can I start the line for Lot N? I'm planning be there Thursday at 5am.

2) Any idea which slots are the ones with Electricity?

3) I read somewhere that you cannot use generators at night... is that true??
What about the heat????

4) If I need to go out in my truck to buy food, can I re-entry the lot again?

5) Best spot to watch the track.

Sorry... I know is a lot of questions, however, I do not have an idea what to do?
Thanks

I'll be there too. I wasn't planning to get in line for Lot N until mid morning. The sites with electricity are reserved. I was unable to get one so I'll be bringing my generator. I've also heard that there are "no generator" hours, which is fine with me. My understanding is that you can go in and out with your ticket. There are many great places to watch the race. I'll be in Turn 1 this year.

Iīm reading that they did installed some electricity hook ups at Lot N which are assigned on a first come/first serve basis, any idea where to confirm?

Iīm also reading there is a fill/discharge tanks service, any idea how it works?
Thanks

My ticket agent told me the same thing about the electric sites, however you are able to reserve them if you had one in the past. I was told that they are all reserved this year.

The tank service is apparently a mobile truck that is operated by a third party. You can also purchase shower passes.

Way to go, guys! You are going to have a great time. Especially if you can camp right on site.

I canít wait! Iíve been to multiple F1 races, and this will be my third in Austin. I am really looking forward to staying at the track and not fighting traffic!

Itís great that we have a competitive race for the championship this year too.

Many good spot to watch the race. You guys enjoy, Iíll be planning for next year. So it would be great to hear how it goes with the whole process with the 1st come 1st serve to get a spot.

We can't wait to experience F1 from Lot N in our Nest! This will my husband's 5th F1 race at COTA and my 2nd. We are huge fans and this will be a great new adventure. We are arriving on Wed and parking in the high dollar RV spots, getting up early to line up for a spot in Lot N. We received our GA wristbands and parking passes in the mail today. This year we will walk over to Turn 1 with our chairs to enjoy the race. We have had tickets on Turn 12 in the past. Our son lives in Austin and my husband is an old Austinite/UT grad, so if anyone needs recommendation about the city, we are happy to help. Hoping to meet some of you!

Look forward to seeing you there. Same plan. We have been out to COTA each day for MotoGP and thankfully the weather has been nice. They apparently expanded the premium area to meet demand and now there is an entire new row, not quite as premium as there is a driveway running between the trackside sites and the new row, so definitely no view of the track, just a good location.

Hoping they keep the inner perimeter road open for us, several track employees said it would be open for our transit to Lot N (one said definitely but you know how that goes). Otherwise we have to go out to Elroy Rd Thursday morning.

Appears that the front row of lot N has hookups, but that's it apparently.

Interesting that for MotoGP, as of Friday afternoon there were many open spaces once you got back from the front rows. I don't really care too much as we won't be trying to watch from our site anyway. There is a convenient gate right at Lot N.

I received my Lot N parking/camping pass today. I have not yet received my tickets for the race.

I think all tickets except for GA are electronic. Not fun if you like a memento, but easy.

They passed out MotoGP printed tickets at the end of the race weekend when we left today, so probably a delay in printing caused them to go online only. As far as F1, we just got notice they are in the mail (Don't know about GA though).

"Your 2021 FORMULA 1 ARAMCO UNITED STATES GRAND PRIX tickets and/or parking passes are being shipped to you via USPS Priority Mail with Delivery Confirmation. Your package was shipped from our ticket printer on Wednesday, September 29, 2021 and was sent to the following address:"

All that are going: enjoy it! Looks like the last one. Not on the calendar for next year.

A real shame. I really enjoyed IMSA, WEC, and Indycar at COTA. They all dropped it. Not sure what is up with MotoGP but they are clearly unhappy.

That's a shame. I really like the Austin venue. It seems like just yesterday that F1 left Indianapolis for Austin!

According to news reports, DORNA negotiated with COTA for a return of MotoGP in 2022 provided that they will repave track section turns 2 through 12. No word on another 10 year contract after that though. Fingers crossed for F1.

For question #3, you have about a 50/50 chance of it being cool enough to be REALLY comfortable at night, and I'd say a 90% chance of it being tolerable. As long as you can run AC into the evening it should be OK to sleep with just the roof fans moving air through the trailer. It's far enough from Houston that the humidity is only annoying, not air you have to swim through.

If you get really lucky, you might get a dry spell. I'm looking forward to having the house open for the next couple of low-dewpoint nights!

I lived in the Austin area in the late '90s and I've been to multiple events at COTA. When I attended my first race there, it was very hot. The last race there it was very cold. It's tough to predict.

F1 losing fans by the minute

Is this the time to say F1 has really blown it with the hybrid power plant junk?
2004 best days for F1, pretty boring these days, big asterisk by Hamilton's name for hybrid joke car years.
