Fly Fishing Campgrounds in Southern Montana?

This summer my wife and I retired, bought a 19' Bambi, and are heading to Montana and Wyoming for most of September to forget about work, get comfortable with the AS, and give my amateur fly fishing skills a workout. Does anyone have recommendations for campgrounds in the Bozeman/Livingstone area? We're hoping to settle in for a while somewhere with electricity and a nearby river or two. Eventually we'll work our way through Yellowstone and down to Jackson before ending in the Bighorns.

There is a great campground just right outside West Yellowstone. Baker's Hole is right on the Madison river and has some electric sites. There are also a few other campgrounds in the area with electric. And I hear the fishing is great.

Here is a good website for camping around West Yellowstone.

West Yellowstone Montana Forest Service Campgrounds

Have a great trip.

Perfect!

Thanks, Stan! That's exactly what I was looking for. Inside that web site I found another link to even more fishing campgrounds near Livingston.

The power of the forum pays off again!

Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks :: Visit a Fishing Access Site

I had posted this link earlier, but it is relevent here again. A very good site for fishing access sites in Montana, and camping areas.

Hipster:

We stayed earlier in May at a location South of Ennis MT called West Madison RV Park (their is a state campground next door). It's right on the Madison River and not far from Earthquake and Hebgan lakes roughly 10 miles down the road. They are small RV pads, but they did offer full hookups. The owners and manager are really nice people. I fished the Madison between Earthquake and Hebgan and caught bows galore in the 18 to 25 inch range. There are some great guides in the area too.

Also don't overlook the Quake Lake area(super float tubing) and the lake outlet is the Madison River. Both Quake Lake and the Madison are super in September. Been there done that. From Quake Lake all the way to Ennis, you can't go wrong. Stop at Bud Lilly's Trout Shop in West Yellowstone and get the flies you need, then have a blast. If you have some extra $$ spring for a Bud Lilly float down the Madison to Ennis. Worth the bucks and you will get the fising of a lifetime experience.
