Florida Baseball Spring Training advice needed

Hey all,

I just the ok to go to Spring training in Florida. I'm coming from Illinois. Leaving Ill around Feb 26 and picking the family up in March 28th for Spring Break in Orlando.

Can you give advice on camping options. My base I would like to be around Tampa. (looking to go to games of Yankees, Blue Jays, Pirates). I'm a White Sox fan so I get that these are not the Sox but didn't want to trek to Arizona this year.

I may also go down to Sarasota area for a week also. So any info re camping there would be great.

Also any advice re the games would be great.

Robert

Check out Traveler's Rest in Date City near Tampa. One of the best RV Parks I ever stayed at.

Sorry can't help you much.
My beloved Cincinnati Reds moved spring training to Arizona. Thanks Reds.....Management doesn't think much of their fan base. When I retire someday I do plan on finding some games in Florida.

Lazydays RV Resort at the corner of I-75 and I-4. https://www.lazydays.com/locations/f...rida/rv-resort

Bay Bayou RV Resort is between Tampa and St. Pete where all the spring training games are played. https://www.baybayou.com/

Both of these are Top-of-the-line RV resorts in the $50 to $70 per night range. You may be able to reserve a place at one of these. The cheaper State Parks will be booked up a year in advance with snowbirds.

Traveler's Rest is in Dade City. Its not really that far away. Tampa St. Pete metro is 50+ miles from end-to-end. Dade City is just outside the metro area. Many people commute daily from Dade City to Tampa to work. There aren't many campgrounds inside the metro area.

Travelers rest may be full. I think it is about 25 miles to the ball park. Travelers rest is “out in the country”.
