First time out in our 2017 Airstream Serenity

We took our brand new 2017 Airstream International Serenity out to San Francisco’s Ocean Beach and we were treated like Rock Stars! Our first time out for a spin today to get some towing experience with our 23’ Airstream International Serenity and we were stopped by at least 50 people saying what a beautiful trailer I got! Everywhere we went people were waving at us And smiling. Wow! We couldn’t believe it. Normal San Francisco Bay Area folks ignoring all The Mercedes and Lexus cars. They instead focused on our beautiful Airstream trailer!
People were just in awe! My wife and I still could not believe how much people loved seeing our beautiful, shiny, silver bullet Airstream out on the streets of San Francisco!

You tend to get a lot of of "rock star" treatment with an AS. It's an added bonus to have such an iconic brand!

Enjoy!

Admittedly, our '06 25' Safari has been babied with storage in an indoor climate controlled facility. However, it still astounds me how many people think the 12 yr old AS is new. Aristreams do attract attention wherever they go.

I hope you enjoy many years cruising with your Silver Bullet.

Or a new one isn't old. "They still make them?"

I actually have more people come up and ask "How old is your Airstream?" When I tell them its a 2014, they always say "Oh, really, I didn't know they are still making them". They think Airstreams were stopped being made 50 years ago...

When we took ours out for the first time at a campground we heard people walking or biking by and saying, “Hey, there’s an Airstream.” Went into a campground again and one guy shouted over, “Airstreams are really cool.”

This is why I bought one. I could have gotten a cheaper brand, but there’s a reason AS has a reputation it does. And it’s also why a well cared for AS actually has some resale value when you want to sell it.

When we’ve had people come and look at it they just are amazed at the quality and how it feels. And people drive by our road and gawk at it by our house.

Mind you I didn’t buy it because of status. I bought it because the AS has a status of quality. I hope it continues that way.

Lol[emoji28]...I always say that it’s “retro” and they would laugh. I truly believe that people love classic things like the Airstream Trailers and most of all, fond memories of years gone by.

Afterthought.....remember also that AS production is maybe 1.5% of total trailer production in the US, so you just don’t see many. We saw 5 between home and Puerto Penasco last week, and that’s a lot!

I'm jealous. Ours is tucked away in the garage and it's -19 C outside . . .

When we towed our Serenity through SF, we turned some heads and at ever light the car next to us put the window down to say how beautiful it was. SF loves AS. Going across the Golden Gate Bridge was epic! Enjoy your new Serenity!

The most frequent comment we get, after the obligatory "WOW," is "I didn't know they still made them."

And oh, yes, if you ever run into one of those campgrounds that try to restrict RVs greater than ten years old: When they ask "What Year?" you simply reply "it's an Airstream." Never a problem ....

I had a friend with a class C visit my trailer. He worked in the nuclear power industry. He stopped coming in the door way. Looking at a weld in the door frame he remarked, "Now, that is a serious weld. I see where the money is in Airstreams". That is high praise coming from one whose career depended on the integrity of welds.

Best Airstream reaction...

A guy ran out of his house upon seeing my new 23D and said “...my ex-wife got mine..!”

We been all over with our 2009 25’ Classic and some RV parks ask us what is the age of our trailer? Then I just say it’s an AS, then say how long will you be staying with us. A lot of parks have age restrictions on RV. But not on AS. That’s a plus for being a streamer. Enjoy life as a streamer.
