Has anyone found a winery in the Finger lakes, NY that allows camping? Seems like I read about one or two that will allow a non-hook up especially if you spend a little money at the winery. Otherwise, any recommendations on a centrally located camping spot in the Finger Lakes of beautiful central NY?
We visited the Finger Lakes earlier this summer. There are several wineries in the Finger Lakes area that are Harvest Hosts members, but you are supposed to be a Harvest Host member in order to stay there. We did visit one winery - Alexander Road - that is not a Harvest Host member but did tell us that they allow overnight RV parking, so you might try them. It was a pretty location with a nice view of the lake.
The state park there has camping and is beautiful - Watkins Glen. Even if you don't stay there, be sure to hike the gorge trail - it's amazing!
We stayed at a city-run campground called Clute Park. Nothing fancy and a little pricey, but a very convenient location. It's mostly seasonal campers, but it was very quiet and the staff are very friendly.
