Ever played the Airstream game?

Made it up myself, although I'm sure its been played before.

Wife and I just got back from traveling from CA to WI/IL and back. We were towing a car trailer (not our Airstream this time)...and on the return trip sans trailer.
From the first mile we played the game. Who can spot an Airstream first and yell it out.
After 17 days there and back I won with a count of 34 to 32.
We also put in a minus count of one if you yelled "Airstream" and it turned out NOT to be one. I was penalized 4 times.

It made for a interesting drive not only checking the road but a lot of back yards and lots.

Maybe you played it before but using VW Bugs...when you traveled with your parents...back in the day.

We add a cemetery to the mix...
If you see a cemetery, you keep your points, but everyone else loses theirs...

(I've been know to purposely take routes that I know where the cemeteries are... That's not cheating, is it?)

We play that all the time! We rarely keep score though, as that takes out some of the fun for us.

Thumbs up

Yep! We played it for the first time on a Christmas road trip from Denver to Scottsdale in 2000. (Saw 17 on our 14 hour drive - would have seen more, but we drove into the night). 2-½ weeks later, we were the proud owners of our first Airstream, a 1964 GlobeTrotter we named “Maxwell”, after the original owner.

My wife and I play a similar game. We make sentences out of the letters on license plates on the cars in front of us. Once she told me I was cheating because I rearranged the letters to make the sentences. I was in my 40's at the time. That was the day I learned I'm dyslexic. Changed my life, but that's a whole another talk show.

How fun - we usually count together, but I like the competition idea!

It’s Just an average day if we only see 4. Yes we look for them, and count.

My wife and I play a variation on this game too, I like the addition of the cemetery card. Looking for a ruling on spotting an Airstream in a sales lot, not being towed, should it count?

Played this game many years with VW bugs - "Punch Buggy" and you have to say the color to get the point. So much fun... back in the day. 😏

My wife and I write down (Secret Ballot) how many Airstreams we think we will see on the overall trip. We count up all the Airstreams and reconcile at the end of the trip. We even toss in a couple of obscure Wild Cards too. Winner gets a Dollar!!
