Cushion Covers for Dog Travel

We’ve been on the road for 2 months is a 28ft FC RBT with 3 Labs. My wife put all the back cushions in “body pillow” cases and put “baby crib mattress” sheets on the bottom cushions. They work great and are easy to wash, the dogs maintain their free reign of the trailer and the cushions are protected. And yes, if your thinking it, I’m not much of a dog trainer.

Welcome Aboard....👍

What has always worked for us...a designated dog chair, in theory.
Everything is covered.

Cushion Covers for Dog Travel

Same deal at our house. Fortunately only one is a big shedder. He’s a little Pomeranian mix so it’s not too bad. Everything is covered with acrylic blanket throws with a fabric liner.Click image for larger version

Quilted cover

Our dogs have always been allowed up on the furniture. We were more careful with our first Airstream because it had fabric upholstery. But our 2017 has UltraLeather, and that stuff rocks! A spritz of Fantastic and it looks brand new again -- even after an incident involving dried blood. Nevertheless, we have a quilted cover from IKEA for the seat area of the sofa. It is supposed to be placed at the foot of the bed, but it is the perfect size for the sofa. It helps with hair management. We live full time in our Airstream.

Chapo, my "grand puppy," is a 7.5 lb longhaired chihuahua whose eyes used to swell up all the time from allergies. His vet told my son/daughter-in-law to start using baby wipes to wipe each foot, his snout, and private areas every time he came in from the outside. It has greatly improved his allergies and a side benefit is that my upholstered furniture (which he commandeers during visits), remains spotless.

Is that a question or a statement? ;-)

We put a dog cover on the sofa that we can remove when in here with the beast. We also open the bathroom door and hook it to a loop and pad eye on the shower wall. That way when he's in here without us (often) he can't get into the bed room. He likes to sleep on the pillows, yuck.

We have two active dogs (Vizslas ) Never had a problem with the original upholstery. Recently had Ultimate Airstream redo our upholstery. It is much denser and heavier leather type. They bounce all over it with no problems whatsoever. And easy to clean. Take a look at The ultimate Airstream website to see the Beautiful craftsmanship and French seams in the upholstery they offer. No dog training Required .Enjoying every adventure.

Check out the Orvis website for your dogs needs. They make beautiful throws /Dog beds that stay on leather are washable. Can recommend their highly-Quality dog products. Yes they are more expensive. Worth the money. They are excellent on our twins beds so you can keep all your bedding nice & clean. Our dogs love them.

Cushion Covers for Dog Travel

What a cute face!

We have two males, literally rescued from the street. They have settled down well with our other two pups. Similar fur and faces. Two happy goof-off dogs.

A dog… is a dog. It will mess up your trailer, most likely including your bed. Our solution is a runner (Home Depot) and a Dyson 11 vacuum. More frequent laundromat stops. Embrace the dirt, is part of the love the dog give you
