Countertop separation: Great Service
We would like to report a positive experience--mostly the Forum details negative. On our way from CT west to Seattle we noticed that our countertop and cabinet were separating from the inside shell in our 2014 27' FB International which we've pulled >65,000 miles. The counter/cabinet was attached to the wall by one screw (that had pulled loose) and was glued to an approximately 2" wide piece of plywood attached to the shell with an L-bracket.
We were concerned that with driving the cabinets movement could disrupt propane, plumbing and electrical connections. So we called ahead in the direction we would be the next day to Ewald Airstream of Franklin, Wisconsin. Rae, the service coordinator, said they would work us in; she understood our worries. The next morning we arrived and Rae, Josh and Joe greeted us. After an evaluation Josh agreed to do the job.
It turned out to require removing the countertop, stove, and more. Josh secured the counter with several brackets, straps, glue, and screws. It’s now more secure than when it left the factory. The price was very reasonable. The work and friendliness of Rae, Josh, and Joe are commendable.
