Council Hill Station near Galena, IL.

I just found out that my favorite bar/music venue/road trip destination has added three RV parking pads with 30A and water hook ups. Council Hill Station is located on the same road as the absolutely gorgeous Galena Winery just outside Galena.
This place is a historic old train depot that has been restored into an awesome bar and music venue.
The owner Jamie has renovated an old barn out back into a music and dance hall, and has three spots for RV parking around the three sides of that barn. Water hookup can be had if you bring a 50+ ft. hose.
This place is way beyond cool, and makes a weekend destination to Galena a place to bring the Airstream.

Galena is basically frozen in time, leftover from the days when riverboats’ domination wained, and trains became the prominent mode of transport. Also the site of the home of President and General U.S. Grant. Lots of antiquing and architecture to look at. A riverboat casino is just over the Iowa line, too, if you like that sort of thing. Excited to hear that there’s a few hookups, too. It’s a great spot to spend a day or two and relax.
