Cherry Hill Park
Just returned from a long weekend at this campground in College Park, Maryland, just off the beltway north of Wash. DC. I found it to be a first class operation.
The entire staff was friendly, professional, and went out of their way to help. The campground itself and rest room/showers were exceptionallyneat and clean. And, aside from the constant drone of the beltway in the background, it was very quiet.
It was a bit pricey at $47 per night for a 3-way w/cable, but with the amenities-two pools, hot tub, exercise room with high end equipment, internet cafe (free), Wi-Fi (30 min.free per day, after that an hourly charge), outdoor theater, restaurant, and conference center. They also had one of the better RV/camping supply stores I've seen to date. They offer 10% discounts on site rentals for AAA, some RV clubs, military, police, etc.
We chose it primarily for it's proximity to DC. The Metro buses stop right at the park several times daily, and will take you to the Metro subway where you can connect to anywhere in the city and surrounding areas. We drove downtown the first day and spent most of the time looking for parking spaces. I believe it to be more cost effective and certainly less time consuming to use the Metro systems.
Overall, it was a good experience. We're already planning our next trip over Thanksgiving. The only disappointment - there wasn't a single other Airstream in the entire park.
