Cherokee Land Airstream Park
On my way to Eureka Springs, I stopped for an afternoon and a night at Cherokee Land Airstream Park near Tenkiller Lake in Oklahoma. This is a very neat place full of friendly folks.
They have 3 guest spaces, but they said that if the guest spaces overflow (about never), they would just put the visitor in someone's lot who is on the road at the moment. They charge $6 a night, but offered me free parking if I would bring my wife and stay longer the next trip.
You can lease a lot for $1500 for 99 years and build what you want on it. Dues are $350 a year and that includes water. If it were closer to home, I could sure be tempted.
I was parked next to what I would guess is an early 70's International. Sadly, I didn't get to meet the owner, a young man who is staying there for an indefinite term.
Trailers varied from almost new to vintage. There were 2 nice 35' motorhomes there, as well. In walking around the park, I saw a nice vintage about 24' that I was told is for sale.
