Central Florida to Chesapeake Bay to Maine recommendations

We are planning to leave Lake Placid, Florida around mid to late April and visit friends in Chesapeake Bay. From there we will head to Maine. We will be exploring all over Maine. Would love campground recommendations and points of interest. We enjoy both interstate driving as well as back roads. I sure appreciate any help!
