Central FL to Jackson Center

We'll be making a trip from North-Central FL to Jackson Center in September. Will need to take shortest route up, but more scenic route back down.

Any suggestions for convenient stops along I-75 heading north?

How about suggestions for a more scenic and leisurely route back south from JC to FL?

Thanks friends.

Old ex trucker, there's nothing worse than I-75 except maybe I-95, in that neck of the woods.
On way back, take I-65 south( I-75 out of Jackson, to 70 East to Indy/ I-65 South) to going back towards central Florida, through Dothan Alabama, for instance.
Once you run I-65, you'll never want to take white knuckle/ construction zone/ elevations/ horrible traffic of I-75.
Especially yanking any kind of trailer.

I 75 is worst around the Atlanta Georgia area, and if I can I always try to avoid that area. Headed back from Jackson Center, you might consider staying on I 75 until you hit Chattanooga Tennessee, then head east and take a detour through the great Smoky Mountains. That is a very scenic route, especially in the spring and fall of the year. You have the option to take the interstate all the way to Charlottesville, and then head south through Savannah if you’d like, or if you’re a bit more adventurous wander off the interstates a bit and take some of the state routes down through North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia and into Florida via those routes.

If you can time your trip such that you overnight around Chattanooga or Rocky Top Tennessee and head out in the morning, when the hills are still emerging in the low, early sunlight from the mist, that is a blissful sight to behold.

Right on Skyguy. The only way to go through Atlanta is stay on I75 around 3:00am.

The Top of Georgia AS park is near Helen, GA. That could be a stopover on the way home.
