Cascade River State Park- video
My wife and I just had a trip to the north shore of Lake Superior and Cascade River State Park. I put together this short video about the trip and I thought some of you might be interested.

Beautiful scenery, now I have to go there. Filmed and edited by a expert. Couldn't help but notice the smiles on both of you Wesair. Please continue posting your trips and give your opinions on camp grounds.

Thanks for sharing. We've never been to that part of the country. We hope to visit some day when we retire in a couple of years.
The cascades looking a little "rusty". Is it the iron in the area?

We missed Cascade when we went around Lake Superior. Looks like we missed a good spot. We will go back though as we had a great trip. We stayed a few days up at Sleeping Giant NP and then over to another NP on the north eastern shore. Really enjoyed kayaking on Lake Seperior. Beautiful place.

My wife and I make it up to the North Shore at least once every year and this year we were lucky to make it up twice (once in June and again in October). We can second Weair's recommendations for this area.
The water's "root beer" color is caused by the tannin in the water (from plants) vs iron. Tannic acid from incompletely decomposed vegetation creates the color.*

Thanks for the nice comments. The north shore of Lake Superior can make anything look good. I'm going to make a new posting of the next video where we visited The World's Best Donuts in Grand Marais. (not exactly an outdoor event).
Please subscribe if you are interested.
I second the comment about the rootbeer color water.

Very enjoyable couple video's..... I find it interesting how your blending both video and still images. Are you shooting both types of media on the same camera?
Cheers
Doug

Actually all of the video and pictures were shot on my Samsung phone. I'm amazed at the quality phones have now. I use the free Movie Maker software. This is low budget stuff.
