Jemez Falls Campground, Site #15. Temperature dropped 40 degrees from Tuesday to Wednesday, then back up 30 degrees on Friday. This was the earliest snowfall on record in NM. Fortunately, it broke the heat and cleared the California wildfire haze for a couple of days.

The road here is very squiggly. Anything longer than 25 ft could be a problem if you meet somebody on one of the tight turns.

I had never heard of this CG before and it looks like I need to check it out. Is the National Park Sr Pass valid for discounted rate? Our RV is 27 feet and I see they have sites for up to 35’. Is your 25’ recommendation just for navigating the road if you meet someone coming the other way or, are you saying if your RV was >25’ you would not camp here.
I was wondering if you had any further clarification on the size issue.

GOUSC- So glad that my post made you aware of this CG.
Good question on the length. The problem is the road in, not the CG. Yup, I would bring a 27 in there. But I kept saying to myself as I was driving the very squiggly 4 mile gravel section of road that I was glad that our Airstream was only 24 ft long. Just past the CG is a horse CG. I suspect some of the horse trailers brought in are longer than 24 ft. Please let everyone know what you think after you go here.
The senior pass works here.
Make sure you get reservations. You can get them as late as the day you are going camping.

Was able to pull right up to a beautiful and clean lake shoreline. Views from inside were like sitting on the water. Lake Hemet in SoCal.

Site 196 was a great site at Big Meadows CG in the Shenandoah National Park.
The view from the overlook is of Massanutten, certainly a unique looking peak.
Close to Massanutten is the Shenandoah River (South Fork). Unfortunately I didn’t bring my kayak this trip.
