Awesome BLM campground with clean pit toilets and water nearby. With your senior pass, $2.50 a night! Close to Alabama Hills. 5 miles into town. Dump site in the campground. Try to get a spot that backs up to the creek.

Sawtooth Lodge

An old campsite with a really really old log cabin lodge. About a 10 mile drive in on a dirt road. Limited electricity from the campground's generator, so if you want AC bring your own generator. No cell phone service, but a pay phone at the lodge. One of my favorite places. They also have cabins. What makes this campground so special is a hot spring swimming pool. Also hot springs in the river. Down the road a few more miles is another campground on federal land with no utilities. Not my SOB in the background

This was our last campsite. We had to leave here for a family emergency and never went back out again. Ultimately, sold everything and settled down in Eastern TN.

By far - this is the best thread in the entire forum! I feel a bit like Jimmy Carter in that I have wanderlusted in my heart looking through this thread! [emoji3] (I guess if you're under 50 that will make no sense....).
Since this is campsite pics and not necessarily inclusive of our aluminum - here's one in Maine where you can see the shadow of the trailer (and my Tilley-hatted head) from the setting sun behind us as we face the Atlantic. Problems drain from my soul here like opening low point drains for winterizing...[emoji3]
