I certainly recognize that picture as that is my white GMC and 27 FB Globetrotter in the middle of the picture. We checked out yesterday after a 5-day stay. Great location in the GA mountains!

Trip to The Big Apple over the weekend and a pleasant stay at the KOA Montreal South. Montreal not so much. Looks like they are trying to rebuild the place.

Site B21 at Oregon Inlet CG in the Outer Banks National Seashore. This is a very private site but I would be willing to give up some of the privacy to get a site where the Airstream points north. Managing the bright sun is important when camping here.

We camped at Ocracoke on the Outer Banks. You need to take a free ferry from Hatteras to get to Ocracoke. We camped in D11, see photo, but this was not a good site. No decent place to relax under the awning and noisy and obnoxious neighbors in D13. We moved.

The preferred sites all point north and are along the dunes from B1-D9 (see map). These sites are not long- a maximum trailer length of 25’. The very best sites are A3, A5 and A7. They will accommodate longer rigs and have lots of room. Reserve months in advance if you want these sites.

The Ocracoke lighthouse was built in 1823, is 75 feet tall with 5 ft walls at the base and is the second oldest operating lighthouse in the US.

The Outer Banks are pretty neat. We did a similar trip years ago in our SOB. We started by going to Bald Head Island. Parked our SOB and to the ferry to stay at a bed and breakfast in BHI. We then headed north to camp outside of Wilmington. We headed north to Cedar Island and took the ferry to Ocracoke and stayed at that CG. We then took the ferry from Cedar Island to Hatterras. We stayed at a private CG and then the National Park CG on Hatteras. It was neat using the NC Ferry system this way.

We've taken up the new hobby of wildlife and nature photography during this unusual year and limited our longer distance trips. A couple of nights ago, we set up camp on some private property (with permission) in western Pennsylvania to practice some dark sky photography. We were trying some different settings and included the '68 Airstream in a few shots. This one caught a shooting star (meteor) directly over the front of the trailer. Thought it was worth posting. (To the photographers: This exposure is clearly longer than appropriate at 30 seconds, you can see the star movement. I didn't use the 500 rule.)
