We were fortunate that our reservation was not cancelled; all reservations in Loops D, E, and half of loop A were cancelled due to COVID and lack of volunteer staffing that they normally depend on for campground operations. Trails and parking lots were still packed despite a timed entry system at the gates trying to limit and space out the normal number of visitors. We were able to avoid the worst of the crowds by being on the trail between 6:30 and 7 a.m. and resting/reading/relaxing in the afternoons.
Cool! My wife and I climbed Longs Peak in July of 1976 on a backpack trip. Spent two nights at Jim’s Grove and summited the 2nd.Day. Great memory and enjoyed Morraine CG again in September of 2017 in our AS with by Bro n law and his wife in their AS. Love CO!

Site #12 at The Narrows CG on New Fork Lake. Up above Pinedale WY. Primitive CG. No water, 2 pit toilets, and rough roads to get there. But the lake is great, as is hiking and biking. Plus 70s during the day, 40s at night..

Hi Julie-Bob, what do you have hanging under the front window guard? Those yellow tubes?

I bet they are bumpers! If you look close The window is open, so you don’t bump your head or walk into them.

I see, they look like pool noodles attached to the edges. That makes sense.

Swimming noodles cut to fit over the edge of the windows when open. I’m tired of hitting my head on the edge of the windows.

It is amazing. Our lake superior pictures were from last June but in the fall of 2018 we were at the Pacific coast and the similarities were amazing.Click image for larger version

Missed this one when we took our trip around Superior. Looks like a great spot. Guess we will have to go again. I know I’ll never talk my wife into climbing Sleeping Giant again though.
