We are trying to find a NICE place to stay for a week long trip in June to the Mendocino, Fort Bragg area. There seem to be lots of crappy places with a lot of full timers. This our 40th wedding anniversary and we are looking for something special with places to explore. We are NOT wine drinkers so being close to wineries is not important.
Thanks for any suggestions.
John

Our favorite campsite is 43 if not then 44 both are very nice,
you have to look really hard to see your neighbors thru the trees. If both are booked next in line 45.
There is always the harbor just minutes away with fine dinning. We like the restaruant where they filmed the movie Overboard.
Nothing like a trip to Mendocino for shopping.
Enjoy your trip
"Mendocinco Van Damme State Park - I think this is my favourite campground so far. Campng within the shelter of redwood trees and right across the street from the ocean. It is just outside of Mendocino proper so you can have the benefits of being close to the little town of Mendocino and also be camping among the redwoods and in nature. The campsites are well shaded by the trees and the sites are nicely maintained. It is a state campground so bring quarters for the showers. If you love to kayak, abalone diving, beach combing and nature walks (ten miles of it!) this is the park for you." http://www.parks.ca.gov/default.asp?page_id=433
