Camping near Wausau

I've found that finding a nice, or any for that matter, RV park within 15 miles of Wausau, WI is difficult. This will be during the summer - we're not into finding out what a real winter is like. If any of y'all have any suggestions I'd really appreciate it.

Tom,
You need to be up here NOW...we could get up to 9" of snow tomorrow night! Im not familiar with the Wausau area, any reason you need/want to be so close? BTW I LOVE your city of San Antonio...Was there a few yrs ago and am thinking of going again soon...

Small resorts

Check with some of the local small resorts. A lot of them have space for an RV. Some of the cabin renters travel in RV's, so there is sometimes a place to put them where they are out of the way of the cabins.

"9"...I doubt we will get 8!

You might try talking to someone from the Wisconsin unit of WBCCI. They may have a member that might allow you to courtesy park. There are also several city and county parks in the area that may have camping.

No, I'll pass on wintering in Wisconsin, but thanks anyway. It's a cool 64 today with some wind, but not too windy to play a round of golf this morning. Our daughter is getting married in Wausau in July, and that's why we need to be close to that area.

San Antonio is a nice place, but it's getting crowded. Y'all should come down for another visit sometime.

I've got a website for city/county parks, and I'll check there.
